Description:

The workshop "Practical Knowledge in Philosophy: Affectivity, Skills and Know-How" aims to highlight a kind of philosophy that, beyond its theoretical impulses, is born out of the need to respond to immediate problems; before reflecting on complex structures of reality, it prefers to describe concrete relations to things and everyday activities. It is therefore practical knowledge - a kind of knowledge that is able to account for its own foundation and to relate to a theoretical discourse. But at its core, practical knowledge remains a mystery of the body situated in the world. The irreducibility of practical knowledge places the embodied agent in relation to the world and illuminates its dimensions and coordinates. We aim to bring together different approaches of phenomenological, analytical and historical-philosophical orientations during a week of intensive discussion.

Students will receive 6 ECTS (150 hours) for participating in the program.
