CFP – The Second International Conference for Doctoral Students in Philosophy

The Doctoral School of Philosophy from Babeș-Bolyai University invites submissions for the second installment of the International Conference for Doctoral Students in Philosophy that is going to take place on May 20 2022. The event will be organized in a hybrid format, including panels both online and in situ. The conference is supported by two research centers of the Faculty of History and Philosophy: the Center for Ancient and Medieval Philosophy and the Center for Applied Philosophy.

Official languages of the conference are going to be English, Romanian and Hungarian.

We invite submissions of abstracts for papers within all areas of philosophy: phenomenology, semiology, hermeneutics, ethics, aesthetics, political philosophy, philosophy of culture and communication, logic, history of philosophy, studies of ancient and medieval philosophy, Romanian philosophy, Hungarian philosophy, and P4C (philosophy for children).

The conference will have thematic parallel panels organized according to the topics of the papers, in all the official languages of the conference. The presentations will be made either online or on site, at the Babeș-Bolyai University, depending on the request of the participants.

Participants should specify when submitting their abstract whether they wish to participate in presence or online. The organizers cannot cover the accommodation and traveling costs for the foreign participants that whish to attend the event on site.

Abstracts should be up to 350 words, suitable for a 12-minute talk (followed by 5 minutes Q&A), and anonymised for blind review. 

The deadline for abstracts submissions is 24th April 2022.

Papers presented at the conference can be submitted, depending on the internal requirements of each journal, to the following publications: Studia UBB Philosophia, PhiloHistoRiss or Revista de Filosofie Aplicată.
