The Body and the Other
The Intersubjective Experience of the Sport Games
Keywords: other minds; body experience; intersubjectivity in sport games
The motivation behind this paper is a genuine subjective and intersubjective experience: as a practicing sportsman it is a great problem for me (as it has ever been for philosophers as well) the difference and the connection between body and consciousness, the mystery of the interaction between matter and spirit. How do I, as a superior intellect detect and control my body in such an accelerated environment as a football game? The main statement of my paper is that there is an original intersubjective experience of the body (before any other intersubjective experience), which can explain the spontaneous evaluations of the situation and the immediate reactions of a soccer player in that specific accelerated environment (the game). I examine the analytical theories of intersubjectivity, the continental phenomenological tradition (especially Husserl) and Evan Thompson's thoughts regarding the embodied consciousness. Heidegger on Euthanasia
Keywords: euthanasia; Heidegger, M.; authentic Being-toward-death; unauthentic Being-toward-death; death as possibility
The purpose of the present paper is to show the meeting points of euthanasia with Heidegger's philosophy on death. After taking an overview on the moral, religious, legal and deontological aspects of euthanasia, I will argue that rejecting useless medical interventions, or claiming euthanasia in the case of incurable, moribund, suffering patients, ontologically can be interpreted as their authentic Being-toward-death, while holding on by all means to a life, which humanly is not worth living any more, shows us the patient's unauthentic Being-toward-death. However, the paper concludes that both accepting and rejecting the possibility of asking for euthanasia, should be respected, as these are choices made by each individual. Furthermore, choosing according to Heidegger is in itself an act of authenticity. (Read the study)

Metaphysics Of Knowledge In Plato's Philosophy
Keywords: Plato; elenchos; aporia; empeiria; techne; episteme; idea; anamnesis
In my essay I shall analyze some essential aspects of the platonic concept of knowledge. In Plato's view learning has transcendental roots, which show the characteristics of the ontological status of the soul. As the people bound to the world of senses cannot learn about the true existence, they, in order to acquire knowledge, need to surpass this mode of being. In Plato's opinion real philosophy may be characterized as a struggle to grasp the real being, the aim of this being to escape from the world of senses and to realize true life and rise to the higher region of the world of Ideas. Because of this to acquire learning is not only an abstract or logical process, but it also has ontological connections. (Read the study)

Euthanasia: Right or Obligation
Keywords: euthanasia, death, hospice, free decision
The term euthanasia comes from the Greek words "eu", meaning good, and "thanatos", meaning death, the combination of the two signifying "good death" or "dying well". Euthanasia, also known as physician assisted suicide, is an extremely controversial subject, not only because there are many different moral dilemmas associated with it, but also in what regards its definition. On the one hand, the advocates of euthanasia say that this is a merciful method of death. On the other hand, those who oppose euthanasia consider this method as a form of murder or at least likely to result in unacceptable harm to vulnerable classes of individuals. Euthanasia may be conducted with (voluntary euthanasia) or without (involuntary euthanasia) the patient's consent. Euthanasia is involuntary when an individual makes a decision for another person incapable of doing so. The decision can be based on the presumed wish of the incapacitated individual, it can be replaced by the decision-maker's wish were he or she in the incapacitated person's place, or finally, the decision can be made by assessing objectively whether euthanasia is the most beneficial course of treatment. Woman and the Problem of Death
Keywords: woman; death; suicide; killing; feminin
The object of my analysis is the mechanism which supresses certain aspects of women's lives. I gradually point out topics such as the suicide and the feminine death aesthetics, euthanasia, the sexist genocide of girl fetuses in Asia, a history of crimes committed against women and also the women's martyrium. Another challenging debate I will approach from a feminist point of view is the analysis of islamic terrorism as a form of gender emancipation. Finally, I will turn to the thorny issue of women's bodies and control of their bodies, especially in the case of the coma rape. The central idea of the study is woman's emancipation and its forms, including the dignity issue, as a historical, social and ethical debate in gender studies. The methodological research is based on the metaanalysis. (Read the study)

Plato on dialectic and eristic
Keywords: dialog; dialectic; eristic; education
The purpose of this paper is to examine some of Plato's perspectives regarding the relation between two types of dialogue. I have in mind the dialectic and the eristic argument. The former can be characterized as constructive, while the latter can be described as a destructive dispute. Both have a substantial impact on education. While dialectic acts positively in this matter, eristic is a serious threat against it. About the latter there are many accounts in Plato's work, but I have used mainly, in the present case, the Euthydemus. I have also attached a few paragraphs regarding Aristotle's account on the difference between the dialectic argument and the eristic one. (Read the study)

Kant on Judgements and Causality
Keywords: Kant, judgement, perception, experience, causality
The study of Kant's Prolegomena is undoubtedly an efficacious means of introducing oneself to the field of critical philosophy. This character of the text in question should presuppose at least three conditions: 1) succinctness; 2) a discourse following an analytical or a regressive method - starting with conclusions and ending with premises - in opposition to a synthetic or a progressive one - beginning with the exposition of principles - found in the first Critique; 3) logical rigour - coherence. In my paper I investigate, bearing in mind especially the later of the three conditions, a distinction dealt with only in three paragraphs of the Prolegomena and absent from the Critique of Pure Reason: the distinction between the judgements of perception and the judgements of experience. In the first part of my paper I analyse the distinction just mentioned; the second part deals with an emblematic theory for the Kantian thinking as a whole - the theory of causality; the last part focuses on the (in)compatibility of the theories analysed in the previous two parts.
