PhotoVoice volume „Objective Europe: The role of the youth in building tomorrow’s Europe”

The Photovoice volume is one of the major innovation elements of this project. It aims at highlighting specific approaches and sequences related to the involvement of pupils and students in building Europe under the careful guidance of teachers, focusing on skill training brought to the fore by the PhotoVoice method.

The volume has 100 photos and stories bringing to the fore the role of the youth in building tomorrow’s Europe. The photos depict both the role of the youth in building the European identity defined by concrete elements, as well as the national identity illustrated through symbolic elements bearing great emotional load – language, religion,a common past nature, symbols, traditions, national (folk) dress – and enriching the European identity and promoting multiculturalism.

The book is also a guide for those who want to understand the sense of European identity and the current context of the expansion vs. integration debate, through a method of non-formal education.

What these wonderful young people are doing nowadays, being actively involved in this project is very important and the way in which they freely express their opinions, debate and analyze issues paramount for the construction of Europe is admirable. The dialog between generations, the exchange of ideas, of visions regarding the European construction and development is a premise for the success of this endeavor, on the one hand, and for the modernization of the Romanian educational process on the other.
