In line with the Erasmus+ Programme objectives, the Jean Monnet Chair Building the United States of Europe: Democracy, Security and Diversity for the New Generation of EU Citizens,aims at deepening the teaching of European and security studies at the Babes-Bolyai University, in an integrated maner, from BA to PhD level.

1. The History of European integration
The course aims to develop the student's ability to operate with concepts and basic notions in the history of European integration and also to develop the ability to understand and interpret the evolution in the history of European integration.

2. Introduction in International Relations and Security Studies
The course aims to develop the abilities of the students to understand and work with concepts and basic concepts of the International Relation and Security Studies. The study of theories and concepts of International Relations and Security Studies, the analysis of the actors evolution of the international system and the relations between them, the study of the main dimensions of security are the basis in the understanding of International relations and security studies.

3. Governance in European Union I
The main goal of the course is to critically examine the theories of European integration from the point of view of the actors taking part at the EU decision-making process.

4. Governance in European Union II
The course aims to address critically the most important approaches regarding the political entity of the European Union: intergovernmentalism, federalism and neofuncţionalism versus multi-level governance and to develop the knowledge on the role of each actor in the all the stages of decision making.
