Student Funding

In the attention of all PhD students who are interested in participating at the 6th edition of the European Rural History Organization’s (EURHO) international conference, which will be held between the 11th and 14th of September 2023, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The conference will be organised by the “Babeș-Bolyai” University and the Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania.

The organisers will provide 10 grants for PhD students which will cover the registration fee (200 EUR), free accommodation (in 2 person rooms) in Cluj-Napoca during the period of the conference, and all of the conference freebies and giveaways.

The criteria for assessing the grant applications are the following:

• Registering to the conference with a paper, and being accepted by the panel organiser.
• For evaluation please send:
  o A Curriculum Vitae written in English
  o A motivational letter, mentioning the title of the paper and the session each student wants to register to
  o A recommendation written by the student’s PhD supervisor with the title: Grant Application EURHO 2023
  o All the mentioned documents should be sent together with the application to the rural.history.hiphi@ubbcluj.ro email address.

The grant applications can be sent between the 3rd and 25th of April 2023.
The successful applicants will be announced until the 28th of April 2023.

Those students who will not be among the 10 successful grant applicants, can still register to the conference paying the early bird participation fee until the 5th of May 2023.
