The initiative and the development of a Historical Anthropology Seminar was born out of the preoccupations of certain historians and researchers who felt the need to coagulate several convergent problems, under the sign of multidisciplinarity and of the spiritualization of the borders between sciences and their preoccupations, being convinced that no problem is overfulfilled, that any problem is or can be present.
Who are we?
Historians, anthropologists, researchers in various fields, full grown specialists or young beginners, from Romanian or foreign universities, willing to give their contribution to the development of this research field in Romania. The problem of historical anthropology is, or it may be, one of the ways through which Romanian historiography may join the main currents of European and world historiography, by adapting, at the same time, to a present knowledge paradigm.

That is why our try only intends to be a pleading for an anthropological history, for an update of problems and research methods, for an enlargement of the fields and investigation methods, for a history that better answers the epistemological demands of our time. We believe that, by working together inside this research center, we can achieve this goal. Concrete results achieved since the Seminar was founded (see the Historical Anthropology Library) entitle us to want to do more, to want to publish as many books as possible for the Romanian reader; to make our researches visible from outside the country, to be able to get the funds we need for our great projects.
