Fields of research: Modern History of Romania, especially Transylvania's History in 19th and 20th Century, Population History and Historical Demography


Scientific research:

A. he published (individual or in colaboration), edited and co-ordinated 34 books

B. he published 94 studies and articles  in Romania and abroad (Italy, Germany, Greece, Hungary) and more than  hundred  book reviews.

C. he participated with papers in more than 70 scientific conferences, national and international, in Romania and abroad (Italy, Austria, United Kingdom, Hungary, Poland)

Distinction:  2002 - “Mihail Kogălniceanu” Prize (awarded by Romanian Academy
