Romanian Family in Transylvania
between Church and State Constraints:
from Tradition to Modernisation (1850-1900)

During 12.04. 2010 – 16.04. 2010, Daniela Deteşan attended European Social Science History Conference, Ghent, Belgia and during 23.08.2010-28.08.2010 the 21st International Congress of Historical Sciences, Amsterdam. Marius Eppel during 21.08.2010-30.08.2010 attended the 21st International Congress of Historical Sciences, Amsterdam. Ioan Bolovan during 11.03.2010- 14.03.2010 attended the international conference “Central Europe Population History during 1st demographic transition”, Karl-Franzens University Graz, Austria, and during 19.08.2010-29.08.2010 the 21st International Congress of Historical Sciences, Amsterdam. In the same time, Ioan Bolovan during 5.05.2010-9.05.2010 and 3.09.2010-9.090.2010 travelled for documentation in Austria and Czech Republic

During 2007-2010, thanks to the support of the National Council of Research in Higher Education, in the framework of the project Romanian family in Transylvania between church and state constraints. From Tradition to Modernization (1850-1900), has been developed a strong research team, aimed to highlight developments that the family has suffered over the second half of the nineteenth century. Research results have been extremely well received among specialists, and students. Also, as gratitude for all the work done in the realm of historical demography, the project director, Professor Ioan Bolovan PhD was elected as vice president, and Dr. Marius Eppel and Dr. Daniela Deteşan were elected as members of the International Commission of Historical Demography.
